Erin won a contest I ran on Facebook a few months ago and we met up on an intermittently-rainy day to capture the bond between Erin and her 15-year-old companion, Christopher Robyn. His favorite treat is butter and his favorite place to be is his beaten-down bed in Erin’s room. Every day Erin carries him down the stairs to the back yard, and some times back up again. Their love and bond was very touching to me, and we even shared a moment of realizing how much this will mean when Christopher Robyn has passed on. It reminded me of all the times I’ve seen my dogs grow old and leave me, and how all the pictures I have of them are my most precious memories…how glad I am that I captured their essence in something that permanent. I can’t really explain how much it means to me to be able to provide Erin with these photographs…but let’s just say that it’s a whole lot.
When I migrated my blog to my new site, I lost this precious comment Erin left: “you made me cry again… thank you! thank you! I love the photos and working with you has been a dream.”
