At the Hoisington family’s ordering appointment, mom shared with me that dad cried after the session. He told her he had no idea taking photographs could be like that – amazing, joyous, and healing. That just about made my year. So many people have traumatic and uncomfortable experiences with photography, and I’m on a mission to change that.
The Hoisington family bluebonnet photos turned out better than I could have even imagined! Mom and dad have raised two very theatrical, loving, playful, vibrant kiddos. I loved capturing the sibling relationship, what each child shared with each parent, and of course, mom and dad, who probably haven’t had a lot of photos of the two of them taken in awhile! We laughed a ton and I especially loved it when they all made serious faces. Not only is that photo priceless and one of their favorites, but the photos that came right after are just pure and authentic joy and silliness. Yay, bluebonnets!
Another great thing about the Hoisington family is that they were totally game to do everything they could with their photos! We designed TWO gorgeous canvas wrap galleries, one for the music room and another for mom and dad’s bedroom. To design them, we took pictures of the actual wall they’d be hung on using my iPad, and then in realtime, I mocked up designs until we wound the right ones. This is such a great way to do it, because then you can see what the gallery will look like on the actual wall! I also put together an 8×8 album that they said their kids LOVE looking through all the time. It’s the perfect size, because it’s big enough that you can see the photos really well, but it’s small enough to be “fun”, not like a giant, heavy wedding album. They also ordered some prints and mini books for their parents. Here are some pictures of the goodies we made, followed by my favorites from the session.
