“I’m still looking, loving, laughing, crying, and discovering new things in our photos every day! Every day! I cannot express how in love I am with our photographs. You have put a stamp on our hearts that will never ever fade <3” ~ Kim and Robert, May 2014
I’m obsessed with Kim and Robert’s Le San Michele wedding photos! They had a distinct vision for their wedding: to create a beautiful, visually striking and joyous event that their guests would NEVER forget. And they succeeded! Kim and Robert, their friends, and their family put so much time and care into making every detail of the day meaningful and colorful. When Kim told me that their colors would be pink and orange with black damask and chevron patterns I knew this would be one of my favorite weddings! (I’m obsessed with sunset colors.) And this couple is just so sweet. They adore, respect, and support the other, and their playfulness and quick whit are really fun to be around. I do want to mention and honor the memory of Robert’s older brother, Rick, who passed away tragically in 2012. Thanks to Photoshop, he was able to be a part of the wedding party and wear the striped orange and pink tie in his portrait. His presence was profoundly felt throughout the whole evening, especially during the balloon release right after Kim and Robert sealed their commitment with a kiss!
Kim and Robert included some really wonderful things in their ceremony that I hadn’t witnessed before, such as a lasso ceremony performed by Robert’s sister and brother-in-law, and a unity coin ceremony, where a coin representing one important aspect of loving relationships was placed in Robert’s hands and then into Kim’s hands. It was quite moving and there were lots of tears and laughs throughout. The dancing was also noteworthy, thanks to some very expressive and uninhibited dancers – you know who you are! And the cake! Wait until you see it! Each layer was a different flavor. Le San Michele was an exceptional venue for this event, with its beautiful European architecture and its striking fairy-like qualities once the sun went down.

My wonderful second photographer Suzanne was able to meet Robert for his morning shave before the wedding at Avenue Barber Shop, which is a wonderful place that women rarely enter!
The ladies + Mark (nickname Mook), Kim’s best friend since high school, congregated at Urban Betty Salon for hair and beard scratching. I just love Kim’s hair!

The beautiful venue, Le San Michele!
Robert’s late brother Rick’s memory was honored in so many beautiful ways. Here is one of them.

The blue bunnies have a special significance for Kim and Robert, and you’ll see that theme throughout the images! Since the beginning of their courtship, Robert has given Kim many blue bunnies in various forms and I’m sure he always will!
So here’s the story: They met at a friend’s Super Bowl party and Kim at one point mentioned Blue Bunny ice cream bars. Robert exclaimed, jokingly, “BLUE BUNNIES!?” That’s just wrong! Bunnies are black, white, and brown, not BLUE!” Fast forward to Easter Eve several months later, they saw each other at a friend’s house again after her friend absolutely insisted that Kim attend…because her friend knew that Robert had been buying every blue bunny he could find and had assembled a huge Easter basket for Kim! It had blue stuffed bunnies, blue foil-wrapped chocolate bunnies, etc., and it was gorgeous! She was in love. She instantly called Mook later that night and filled him in on how this wonderful blue-bunny gesture meant that this amazing man had heard her and thought of her, and she was DONE!

Kim and her dear friends and family spent an entire afternoon making the centerpieces for the tables!
A bullet casing from Rick’s memorial service was creatively turned into Robert’s boutonniere. It was Kim’s idea and their talented florist, WOW Factor Floral Design, really delivered! In fact, the flowers at this wedding were a huge highlight. Absolutely stunning!
Can you see the blue bunny in the ring?
Kim’s mom hand stitched the blue bunny right onto the back of Robert’s tie! There were SO many personal and meaningful touches in this wedding.
The tattoo on Robert’s sister’s back is in honor of Rick.
This necklace is made from Rick’s gold Marine Corps insignia, a surprise from Robert’s mother.
Robert’s entrance was truly memorable. Never before have I seen a groom enter with such theatrics! He had everyone smiling and laughing right away! And then like the classy gentleman he is, he bowed in thanks of everyone being there on their special day.

There is nothing like seeing a tear roll down a groom’s face as he looks at the love of his life!

I loved this moment. It started as a dance between Kim and Robert and soon was a group embracing and swaying together. I told you there was lots of love!
