These two met when Jacob asked Honorée out over the phone without ever having met her in person! She was helping him with an insurance claim after a car accident and he thought she was awesome and sounded beautiful (and she is!). She agreed to meet up with him at a coffee shop, and they’ve been together ever since. When they learned that their first child was on the way, they got married, but now it was time to make it official with their friends and family at the beautiful Driskill Hotel! Their daughter Harper was born last year and she looked absolutely scrumptious in her little pink dress and shoes at the wedding. In lieu of an engagement session, we did a family session at the Arboretum! Everyone loves Harper. She is a doll!
The ceremony was my favorite kind – personalized, heartfelt, mentions of soul mates, laughter and tears. They both beautifully wrote their own vows and it made my eyes sweaty too! I loved the moment where Honorée and Jacob couldn’t help but kiss even though it wasn’t “time”. Harper also added some input to the ceremony with her adorable vocalizations, which caused a lot of smiles and laughs. Both their families were such good, lovely people (and absolutely stinking hilarious) and I enjoyed seeing the family dynamics unfold as the night wore on. The toasts were legendary, the food was phenomenal, and their wedding band knew how to keep the party going.
Honorée and Jacob have huge hearts and smiles and could play with and joke with me, which is kind of a must for ixi clients 🙂 I hope I will see these three fantastic people in front of my lens again year after year!
Special thanks to the amazing vendors who helped make this event a great one: Planning: Pearl Events Austin • Dress: Second Summer Bride • Hair and makeup: Lauren of Lola Beauty via Lucie Marie • Floral design: Bouquets of Austin • Catering, bar tending, wedding cake: The Driskill Hotel • Classical guitar: Mark Cruz • Wedding band: iDudes
Honorée’s dress is one of the most unique dresses I’ve photographed. The gray! Oh it looked SO beautiful on her and the silhouette of the dress could not have been more perfect for her beautiful figure. You’re not going to find a dress like this at a chain, but luckily Second Summer Bride had it! Harper’s outfit was found on Etsy!
I loooove her smile!
Look at those stunning details – the birdcage veil and the pink nail polish? So classy.
They both said after the first look that they were so happy they did it!
Their ceremony took place in the Crystal Ballroom in the Driskill. And I looove those pink socks!
Look at that adorable surprise bike for Harper and yes, those are Jacob’s mom’s live doves! She is a real animal lover and does a lot of therapeutic work with horses.
Jacob’s dad told HIS version of how Honorée and Jacob met – it was just *slightly* exaggerated 🙂Jacob’s brother was a total character. Absolutely hilarious.
Honorée’s brother gave a funny but touching speech.
After some of Jacob’s groomsmen said a few words, he had to set the record straight about how he met Honorée!
The bride gracefully cleaning up spilled beer (and not even her own!).
