What was most important to Jennifer and Jason is that their friends and family were captured. Sure, the details are nice, but the moments are priceless.
“So, what’s your theme?” “Star Wars cat peacock…?” Now that’s unique. And there WERE cats! Well, not real ones, but excellent representations of them. I remember that “Snoozy”, whose name graced one of the reception tables, was one of Jason’s lazy cats when he was growing up. I don’t think any of us were expecting cat ears to suddenly pop up in the middle of the ceremony (which was ridiculously lovely and tear-y, by the way) either. And there’s nothing like a trapped-Han Solo wedding cake next to a stunningly vibrant traditional one with Darth Vader watching over.
There’s more! The flowers were unreal! If you like looking a pretty things, you’re probably going to be staring at these flower pictures for a long time. Those that came before Jennifer and Jason were beautifully memorialized behind the bride’s cake, and they also honored Jennifer’s parents by using their cake topper. Jennifer placed a white rose in her dad’s chair to honor his passing, and a lavender rose in her mother’s chair, who was too ill to attend the wedding. There was an old, classic car for everyone to drape themselves on, which may have been involved in Jennifer’s entrance! Jason’s reaction to Jennifer coming down the aisle with her grandmother tugged at everyone’s heartstrings, and I loved their hand-fasting, which they did not undo until after they were married. The reception space was gorgeous, ohmagosh! Jason and his dudes were classy as all get-out with their cigars, and his toast to Jennifer was…wow. Let’s just say I had no idea he could express how he felt about his soulmate that way! The DJ’s personality was a form of entertainment in his own right. The people were warm and hilarious and awesome. They are just a wicked cool couple, and also wicked kind (totally not an oxymoron!). When I go over to their house, I’m greeted by two kitties and hugs and bubbly drinks and I feel like an old friend. I hope there’s another reason for me to photograph them…I don’t know, awkward cat family photos? Cats hate being told what to do.

“I don’t know what to do with my hands.”
I told you he was a classy man.
I guess they got over it eventually.
Seriously, isn’t this moment gorgeous? That is what it looks like when someone acknowledges and appreciates another human being.
This dance party was insane. I mean that in the best way possible!
Kids’ dance contest!
This is why I stay until the very end.
