The Flint family and I share something major in common – The Austin Waldorf School. I have an affinity for Waldorf families, because we’re all a part of this unconventional, alternative community. When I hang out with a former Waldorf student, it’s like electricity. We all grew up thinking that gnomes lived in the woods and that drawing with crayons made out of beeswax was normal. And, we all love to be in nature. The Flint family is no exception! So I took them to my favorite park in northwest Austin with a bluebonnet patch hidden amongst 5 hiking trails and cactus (and snakes!). Mama Flint “warned” me that her kids were very outdoorsy, and so I wasn’t surprised when one of them dunked her shoe in the water when she lost her balance. If you look closely, you might be able to see a soggy shoe. What made this shoot extra fun besides the massively entertaining twins just hamming it up left and right and the beautiful, tender moments in between the ham (mmmm. A ham sandwich. Or wait, a tender sandwich? Yeah. A tenderwich) was that we knew some of these photos would end up on Dr. Flint’s office walls. It looks sooo good, you guys.
