My favorite things about weddings are the emotions and the moments (emotiements?).
This one has all that AND it’s really, really gorgeous. I like that too. I guess…like pretty things, ok??? I admit it! But if it’s got no heart then what’s the point? This one, though, is the heartiest. Dreaming of this simple, lacy, lovely fall affair at Lost Mission between Austin and San Antonio today. I remember it was raining hard off and on, and the clouds would always part at just the right moments. I also remember Kirbey and Zane sharing/fighting over a cookie sandwich! Another neat touch was that Zane’s family owns a BBQ restaurant and they catered the wedding. You’ll also notice a close-up of Kirbey’s bouquet, which has her late father’s pendant of Jesus attached in his memory. There’s something called a Grand March, which is a European tradition that delighted (and exhausted) nearly every guest there! Oh yeah and there was a FIRE WALL. Lastly, I’m really into the way this couple chose to do their grand exit…I bet you’ll like it too, especially if you’re a Texan. This family means a lot to me, because I’ve photographed all three sisters’ weddings in the span of 3 years. Made my squishy heart gush to see Kirbey do the thing with her special guy!
