Well this was a blast. These two new how to get eloped, I’ll tell ya that much! Let’s get PICKLEY!
Ok but first, a funny story. Their unofficial “song” is Careless Whispers by George Michael. While we noshed on pizza, we all heard the sexy sax floating on the air and spent a good 7 minutes blaming each other for setting the whole thing up. But no. It was just a beautiful, careless coincidence.
This vibrant and down-to-earth wedding celebration was fairly DIY and super fly, and I can’t say I’ve ever seen a groom give a disco ball competition. They had a royal purple cake – yum – and their last dance was to “Pony”. Kate and Kawika met when they weren’t looking for anything serious and they were both in denial for awhile about what was happening between them, but before they knew it they were planning a future together. Sometimes it just sneaks up on you. And I think their future looks very shiny.
Happy 1-year anniversary! <3 Check out their engagement session here – heads up that it involves a painting of something eating a turtle while they suck face.

There’s something very special about uniting in marriage with your future child’s heart beating inside you. Placing your hand on your belly as you make your vows. Surrounded by just your closest family and friends. Beautiful.
They also had a magician to inspire wonder in everyone from 1 to 92, and can we all just acknowledge how much these people adore their animal companions? I hear that one of them has gone missing so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He’s an angel.
